Isanotski Strait is the narrow strait at the end of the Alaska Peninsula. To say that False Pass is the answer to the question being asked might confuse other people. You might be wondering why Isanotsi Strait and False Pass differ now, so to easily explain this answer, it is worth saying that False Pass is a city located in Unimak Island, southwest of Alaska and Isanotski Strait is a strait which connects the northern portion of the Gulf of Alaska with the Bering Sea.

If we are to answer based on the early name of Isanotski Strait, we can say that False Pass used to be its early or old name. It was given the name False Pass because American sailing ship captains believed or thought that the strait was impassable for the ship’s draft vessels. Now, the city of False Pass is situated on the Isanotski Strait.
