The river which divides the areas of Manhattan and the Bronx is the Harlem River. It stretches 13 kilometers and flows between the Hudson River which stretches 57 kilometers from the northern to the southern part of Eastern New York and the East River which stretches 26 kilometers and connects Upper New York Bay and Long Island Sound.
In the Harlem River, you will be able to see the Park Avenue Bridge which is a vertical lift bridge that carries the Metro-North Commuter Railroad, a commuter rail service which runs between these areas: New York City, Connecticut, Port Jervis, Poughkeepsie, Spring Valley, Wassaic, White Plains, Danbury, New Canaan, New Haven and Waterbury. There was an article which was released last May 27, 2017 that John F. Kennedy’s World War II boat, PT-109, may have sunk at the bottom of the Harlem River, but it is yet to be verified to be considered official.
