Paraguay is a country located in South America. The Paraguay River runs through the country. Compared to its neighbor, Brazil, Paraguay is a rather small country in terms of its area of land. In total, the area of Paraguay is over 400,000 kilometers or over 157,000 square miles. There are over six million people who live in Paraguay.
There are two sections of Paraguay. One is called Region Oriental and the other one is called Region Occidental. The land in Paraguay is mostly grasslands and hilly areas with plenty of trees. Paraguay is a landlocked country which means that the country does not touch an ocean and is completely surrounded by other countries. Paraguay enjoys a tropical and subtropical climate.
