The factor that makes the basic difference between maritime climate and continental climate is that there is less variation in temperature in the former, while the climate does fluctuate in the latter, such that we can have either hot summers or cold winters. There are fewer changes in temperature when it comes to the maritime climate, while the temperature highly varies in a continental climate.

When it comes to the case of a continental climate, it can have winters that are quite freezing and summers that are very hot. On the contrary to the continental climate, the maritime climate usually experiences mild winters and cool summers, with a lesser annual temperature range.

Then, the continental climate is characterized by little rainfall, cold winters, and hot summers, typical of a continent interior. Just like those present on the west coast of the US, maritime climates are usually influenced by oceanic patterns of air.

Maritime and continental are two types of climates that can be felt. They vary by the type of temperature each climate has. Maritime climates are also known as oceanic climate. Countries that are near oceans have this type of climate. Those countries include Spain, England, and New Zealand.

Continental climates have more extreme temperature changes because the winters are very cold, and the summers are extremely hot. This climate is seen in many places in the northern hemisphere, including West Virginia, Italy, Finland, Quebec City, and Argentina. The temperatures and where the climates can be found are the main differences between these two climates.

People who are living in different places will also experience different types of climates. Two of the climates that are often compared are maritime and continental climates. When you say maritime climate, this means that the type of climate and weather that you will get to experience will be most likely the same with what is expected for that particular time.

For example, you know that you are going to experience winter. This means that you will experience winter for sure. When you are in the continental climate, this means that the continent where you are in may sometimes have an effect on the type of climate that you will experience. You may experience the coldest winters and the hottest summers in this type of climate.

The significant difference is that the marine environment is based on the sea, and the continental climates are based around the land. Areas that are far from the ocean and large lakes in the interior of landmasses possess a continental climate.

The temperature range is suitable for those who are looking to experience a climate that fluctuates and delivers hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter. This temperature is because there is no large water body to regulate these temperatures.

In maritime climates, summers can be cool, and the winters are not very cold. The daily range of temperature is considerably lower in a maritime climate. Coastal regions maintain a steady maritime environment.

Marital and continental climate may seem the same in the beginning until you start to know more about their differences. When you say the maritime climate, you can expect that there will not be a lot of temperature variations that are available.

This means that those who are living in this type of climate will have an easier time predicting what the weather is going to be or how the climate is going to be for a certain part of the year. Those who are living in a continental climate can expect that there are going to be a lot of fluctuations that may occur. Sometimes summers can be too hot. There will be times when winters will be hard to bear.

Maritime refers to coastal climate and continental refers to the climate of continents interior. Countries with a maritime climate life near the ocean. Examples of countries with this type of climate include Germany, France, and Brazil. Countries with continental climate are different from maritime countries because they live far away from the ocean.

Some countries with this type of climate include Algeria, Cape Verde, and Benin. Due to where they live, countries with this type of climates will have different temperatures. Living near the ocean will result in cooler temperatures, compared to those that live far away from the waters.

You should know the differences between maritime and continental climate so that it will not be confusing to you anymore. In continental climate, you can expect that the climate will fluctuate. There will be times when summers can become very hot, and winters will also become very cold. In the maritime climate, you can expect that the temperature will become a bit constant. This means that the temperature will not vary that much. Another difference is where these climates can be experienced. Maritime climate can be experienced by those who live near the water, while continental climate can be experienced by those who live far from the water.

The main difference between the two is that the maritime climate does not change so much while the continental climate is known to fluctuate. In

continental climates, there is always a chance that summer can be very hot and the winter can be very cold. For the maritime climate, the climate will stay almost the same the whole year round, so people do not need to adjust so much to the changes.

Those who live in places that experience a continental climate would need to have different sets of clothes depending on the season that they are experiencing. This can lead to more expenses in the long run. In some maritime climates, even the summer can be a bit cold.

The maritime and continental climate differ mostly in temperature. Maritime climate has fewer changes in temperature while in a continental climate the temperature greatly fluctuates. In the maritime climate, summers can be not scorching and winters not too cold. A continental climate, on the other hand, has summers that can be very hot and winters are freezing.

The reason behind this is maritime climates are located near bodies of water like rivers or seas. Bodies of water can retain heat during winters and can give cool air during summers. Continental climates can be found far away from bodies of water hence extreme temperature are experienced. That is why a country that is near a body of water does not experience scorching summers and snows on winters.

In a maritime climate, the temperature variation is not that great. For the continental climate, the temperature varies so greatly that it will tend to fluctuate at times. Maritime refers to a coastal climate while continental climate refers to the climate of the continents interior. Countries that usually have maritime climate are those who are near the ocean.

People who are living near the ocean sometimes experience a tropical climate. The countries who are far from the ocean usually experience continental climate. Take note that the main difference of these two types of climates is the temperature change. There are some countries that also experience semi-continental climate.

Maritime climate or oceanic climate includes cool summers and winters. Temperatures may vary slightly in these places but not greatly. Some of the countries that have a maritime climate include countries usually located near an ocean. Some of these are England, New Zealand and parts of Spain. In a continental climate, the winters are very chilly and the summers are very hot.

This climate can be seen mostly in the northern hemisphere. Continental climates are found in Quebec City, West Virginia, Argentina, Finland, Italy and Iran, to name a few. Therefore, the greatest difference between these two climates is the temperatures. The maritime seems to have a steady temperature throughout the year whereas a continental climate changes from one extreme to the other.
