Ukraine’s capital is Kiev. Dnieper River runs through the capital city. Kiev has almost three million people in its population. Kiev is an old city dating back to a medieval civilization. Some people believe that Kiev was settled by people in 482 AD, but others are skeptical of this early date. During the Stone Age, records and artifacts show that people did exist in Kiev at that time.
Since Kiev was part of that battles in World War II, one of its attractions is the Museum of The History of Ukraine in World War II. With Kiev having so many lakes and rivers, many citizens enjoy the recreational activities and sports associated with water. Soccer is a popular sport in Kiev.
