Ghana is a country located in Africa. It has a long history as it's Africa’s oldest state. In 500 A.D., migrants moved to Ghana where they continued their agricultural livelihood. During this time, the people unearthed gold in Ghana. Many traders became interested in this area and would send merchants to trade for this gold.
Also, salt was found in other areas of Africa near the Sahara Desert. When people from the Middle East would come to trade for the gold, they would spread their religion to this area. Due to this influence, many people in Ghana became Muslim. The Ashanti people emerged in Ghana under their leader known as Osei Tutu. Later, the slave trade became popular in Ghana.
