Africa is the continent known for its diamond production in which they mine a large percentage of the world’s total current market of diamonds. Diamond production occurs in different parts of the world and Russia is known to be one of the world’s largest and richest diamond resources as they are the largest producer and exporter of diamonds by volume.
However, it is worthy to note that Africa is the world’s largest producer of diamonds, producing more or less than 1.9 billion carats and mining about 158 billion dollars worth of diamonds. These diamonds come from different parts of Africa such as South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and the Democratic Republic of Congo which produce thousands of carats of diamonds in the world.
