Is it true that a can of pepper spray can provide excellent protection against rape?

False-pepper spray is a tool against rape. as a tool, it is useful in some situations and not as useful in others. like other self-defense weapons, there is the risk it can be taken from you and used against you. additionally, if you spray at someone and the wind is blowing back at you-bad news. however, it can be useful if-for instance-you walk daily and carry it with you, keychain style, where you have easy access and you fear an attack by a stranger outside. bear in mind if it is at the bottom of a purse, again... not so useful. if you decide to use pepper spray, know what it can and cant do, and get trained in it!
