The seven continents are as follows: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Antarctica and Australia. If we are to rank these continents according to the area of land it covers, the largest would be Asia which covers a land area of 44,391,162 square kilometers.
It is followed by Africa with 30,224,049 square kilometers, North America with more than 24 million square kilometers, South America with 17,821,029 square kilometers, Antarctica with 14,245,000 square kilometers, Europe with 10,345,636 square kilometers and Australia with 7,686,884 square kilometers. Although these continents differ in terms of land area, it does not necessarily mean that they are ranked the same in terms of the number of population. An example of this is North America – although it is the third largest continent in the world, it is ranked as the 4th most populous continent in the world.
