Singapore is almost on the equator. It is 1 degree from the equator. Since 1-degree latitude corresponds to approximately 111 kilometers, Singapore is around 70 miles from the equator from its southernmost point.

One degree. It should be understood that the equator is an imaginary line. There is no actual line that separates the north and south hemispheres from each other. One-degree distance means that it is about 137 kilometers from the equator. This explains why the country has a mostly tropical climate.

It is warm most of the year but the heat is more bearable from February to April. There are also some months that are very rainy so it will not be advisable to be there when the weather is lousy. It will not allow tourists to thoroughly enjoy the place. The climate is mostly consistent all-year round.

Singapore is not too far away from the equator. In fact, it is one of those countries that are located near the equator which means that it does not experience four seasons. This country is considered to be warm most of the time because of the tropical climate. It does not necessarily experience winters. There are a lot of people in Singapore who is used to the rain too.

They always have umbrellas available so that they can protect themselves from the sudden rain. The best time to visit Singapore is during months when the weather is not too hot. February would be an ideal month but visiting any time of the year can be ideal for you too.

Singapore’s distance from the equator is one degree. For this purpose, we need to define the two to fully understand the answer. The equator is an imaginary line around the Earth which constitutes parallel latitude of 0 degree and it is what divides Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

Singapore is a country located south of Malaysia and has a land area of 719.1 square kilometers. It has a population of more than 5 million people and, although small in terms of size, is the second most competitive country and the third largest financial center in the world. Now, in terms of distance between Singapore and the equator, Singapore lies one degree north or just 137 kilometers from the equator.
