There is only one river in Egypt – the Nile which is their primary source of water. The Nile River is very long which is about 6,853 kilometers long and extends from Burundi flowing through Africa to Egypt until it reaches the Mediterranean Sea.
Nile River helped the Egyptians in a lot of ways such as providing papyrus which they use as paper and boats, fish from the river, birds which fly close to the surface of the water and made trading easy for them since Nile was the safest and quickest way to travel to different places. Flooding was frequent in the old days on a yearly basis due to rain and snow melting within the Ethiopian Mountains. It was only in 1970 when the flood was controlled through the construction of the Aswan Dam.
