The answer is 4.

Traditionally, Egypt is bordered by Libya in the West, Sudan in the South and Israel in the north. So that is option A. The problem comes from Israel in the form of the presence of the Gaza Strip. Gaza Strip is a disputed territory and it is indirectly occupied by Israel. There is a constant debate on whether the Gaza Strip should be considered a separate country. International political analysts believe that Gaza has more than enough autonomy for a disputed territory and Israel does allow Gaza its freedom. So if you believe that, Egypt is bordered by 4 countries.

Egypt extends from the Nile Valley in the West to the Suez Canal in the East. It has coastlines on the Mediterreanean Sea, but also on the Red Sea and the Nile. It therefore has maritime borders with Cyprus, Greece, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

By land, it borders Libya, the Sudan, Israel and the Gaza Strip. Altogether, Egypt, as it always was in times past, is strategically important to these neighbouring countries, and to those who wish to remain on good terms with them.

There are four countries that border Egypt namely the Palestinian territories or the Gaza Strip to the northeast, Israel to the northeast, Libya to the west and Sudan to the south. There are many cities in Egypt such as Aswan, Asyut, Cairo, Luxor, Port Said, Qina, Suez, Suhaj and Tanta. Gaza strip is a pretty small country with an area of 363 square kilometers and with an estimated population of 1,882,000 people.

Gaza strip includes places such as Khan Yunus, Rafah, Gaza, Al-nazlah, Jabaliya and Dayr al-Balah. Israel has an area approximately 20,770 square kilometers with an estimated population of more than 8 million people. Libya has an area of 1,759,540 square kilometers with a population of more than 6 million people. Sudan has an area of 1,886,068 square kilometers with an estimated population of more than 39 million people.
