The father of surgery is also known as Joseph Luster. This Englishman first became known because he is an advocate of the use of phenol. He used phenol as an antiseptic, and because of this, he was able to earn the name “Father of Surgery.” Take note that there are still different people who are called the “Father of Surgery” for different reasons.

For example, Philip Syng Physick invented different surgical methods and instruments that are still being used right now in modern treatments. In India, the father of surgery is known as Sushruta. He has contributed a lot to the field of medicine. His ways have also been picked up by Western doctors during his time.

The correct answer to this question is Sushruta. Sushruta was an Indian surgeon. During ancient India, his work was the primary source of information about the surgery, and it is a treatise, called Sushruta-Samhita. This treatise included groundbreaking operations and techniques. These operations include rhinoplasty, which is repairing the nose, and lithotomy, which helps remove kidney stones.

Sushruta's information helped provide guidelines to dissect the human body. His treatise also gave information on various branches of medicine, including toxicology and pediatrics. He is thought to have done his work during 600 bc to 1000bc. Sushruta's work is essential because it helped guide surgery as we know it today
