Seas are bodies of water that are smaller than oceans and are still made of salt water. There are hundreds of seas around the world, some of the most popular being The Dead Sea, The Baltic Sea, and The Mediterranean Sea. Different definition seas are as follows:

1. Marginal sea: a division of an ocean that is closed off by islands or peninsulas but having an opening towards the ocean
2. “The Law of the Sea states that all of the World Ocean is ‘sea’”
3. Some large bodies of water use the word “sea”, although they are not a sea by proper definition
