Skin is the largest organ in the body. It has many functions and should be protected. The skin is the outer layer of the human body. It is the first organ that usually comes in contact when someone is attacked or even if someone is lying in the sun. The sun will bear down on the skin first before affecting other organs.
The skin, however, does other functions like maintaining the temperature of the body and can also feel a pinprick and send the feeling to the brain. The brain then determines what just happened. A key function of the skin is to protect the rest of the body from infections or harmful things. The skin does not make you look good, but it serves a more important function.
