Post traumatic stress disorder, or most commonly referred to as PTSD, is a mental health disorder that is developed by some people after they experienced a traumatic or life-threatening event. These traumatic or life-threatening events may either be from war, accidents, disasters or unwanted sexual advances. It is perfectly normal for people to be afraid after experiencing such events, but if the fear lasts for more than a few months, it is highly likely for you to have developed PTSD. Here are a few symptoms that a person who has PTSD may have, but it is not limited to the following:
1) Having nightmares or flashbacks repeatedly;
2) Always alert that causes trouble sleeping or concentrating;
3) Avoiding people or things that may remind you of the event you wanted to forget; and
4) Changing your feelings and beliefs about things you used to love and people you care about.
