Though there are a few different ways to breakdown the period of your life known as adulthood, from a health and nutrition standpoint, it is most easily broken down into 3 categories: Early Adulthood, Middle Age, and Golden Years. These 3 stages represent very different periods of your life, when your lifestyle typically experiences a dramatic shift, and your body has dramatically different needs. Here are a few of the different health needs in these 3 stages of adulthood:

• Early Adulthood: Refers to ages 19 to 30, you typically have a busy lifestyle and need to consume a higher amount of calories.

• Middle Age: Refers to people in their 30s and 40s, when you need fewer calories with a higher concentration on unsaturated fats.

• Golden Years: From age 50 onwards, when calorie consumption should be at the lowest level because your metabolism slows.
