The average adult should consume 2 servings of dairy every day. This can be consumed in the form of a glass of milk, a cup of yogurt, or 1 ½ ounces of cheese. Children, active individuals, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consume 3 servings of dairy every day to receive the nutrition their body needs. Dairy provides our bodies with a number of important nutrients, the most important of them being calcium.

Calcium helps to strengthen our bones and aids in bone growth, which is why growing children need more dairy than adults. Eating a well-balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health, so be sure you are getting the necessary servings of dairy each day.
