The correct answer is Sierra Leone.
The country with the highest maternal death in the world is Sierra Leonne. The maternal mortality rate is defined as the death of a woman that occurs directly related to pregnancy. It could be while pregnant or with 42 of termination of pregnancy.

According to UNICEF, hemorrhage remains the leading cause of maternal death. It accounts for about 27 percent of maternal death. Preexisting conditions such as hypertension aggravated by pregnancy also causes a lot of maternal death. Other causes include abortion, sepsis, and embolism, other indirect and direct causes.

Other high-risk countries for maternal death include Yemen, Sudan, Chad, Afghanistan, Haiti, Ethiopia, Guinea, Iraq, Syria, Congo, Zimbabwe, Central Africa Republic, and Nigeria.

The correct answer to this question is Sierra Leone. One of the reasons why they are number one on the list is because they are one of the poorest countries on the African continent.

Studies have shown that the poverty level has a direct correlation to mortality rates because the mother is not able to obtain a high level of care that they need. Because of this, the poorest countries increase the chance that the mother will not be able to live through their pregnancy.

Along with Sierra Leone, many African countries are on the list due to the fact that they have high mortality rates.

Some of the world's highest maternal mortality rates are all countries that reside on the African continent. Around 62 percent of all maternal deaths worldwide occur there. Sierra Leone is the country that is first on the list, and this is one of the poorest countries in Africa, which elevated the chance that the mother will not survive through pregnancy.

Countries with severe poverty have higher numbers of maternal deaths for many different reasons, including the absence of prenatal care and no competent medical professionals to help with the birthing process. The central African Republic also has the highest mortality rates. Women living in deprivation do not have access to healthcare facilities. Almost half the babies born there are born at home.

According to research, there are only eight obstetricians and gynecologists in the country. In Chad, women maintain a low social status and do not attain an adequate amount of health education, which is why there are many times the women in this country do not even realize that there is a health issue with which they need to deal. Some other countries with the highest maternal mortality rates include Nigeria, South Sudan, Somalia, and Liberia.
