The capital city was moved to Islamabad because it is believed that moving the capital city to Islamabad will better represent the diversity of Pakistan. Islamabad is gotten from two different words, “Islam” and “abad” which means “The City of Islam”. Islamabad is home to over 1.1 million people. It is the 9th largest city in Pakistan. It is located in the northeastern part of the country. Most people in Pakistan are Muslims. Christians and Hindus form the majority of the non-Muslim groups.
