BMI stands for body mass index. Height and weight measurements are used to calculate the body mass index (BMI).

BMI is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy. The patient’s weight is measured using a scale, while their height is measured using a platform ruler or tape measure. A patient’s height, weight, and body mass index [BMI] can provide a health care practitioner with important information about their overall health and physical condition. Taking the patient’s height and weight may indicate that the patient is overweight, underweight, or is retaining fluid[edema].

A body mass index is a tool used to assess and monitor changes in body weight. BMI is calculated by dividing an adult’s weight in kilograms by their height in meters squared. i.e. weight (kg)/ [height (m)]2. here are different ranges of BMI

1. A normal BMI range from 18.5-24.9
2. A patient with a BMI of less than 18.5 is underweight
3. A patient with a BMI of 25-29.9 is overweight
4. A BMI greater than 30 –39.9 is considered obsessed
5. 40 and above is considered morbidly obsessed

BMI is the short form for Body Mass Index. It is a method used to measure body fat based on your height and weight. It can also be defined as a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of the height in meters.

A normal BMI is 18.5-24.9, an underweight BMI is <18.5, an overweight BMI is 25-29.9, and obesity is >30 BMI. BMI can be used as an indicator of health problems; when someone has over 30 BMI is shows that the person has a tendency to have blood pressure or other diseases.

When someone has less than an 18.5 BMI, the person will be examined for deficiency in nutrition, which can lead to different illnesses too. BMI is not just useful for knowing our weight but also use to keep an eye on our health.

Body mass index is a value that comes from the mass plus height of an individual. The BMI is identified as the body mass divided by the body weight's square, and it is universally expressed in kg/m, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in meters. BMI may be ascertained using a table or chart with displays.

BMI can be used to determine whether someone is overweight, obese, underweight, or are precise as they should be. BMI's under 20 and over 25 are correlated with higher causes for mortality, with the risk of increasing the distance from the 20-25 range.
