All types of lesions may be a sign that something is wrong and the doctor has the right to know about this immediately. There are some women who may develop lesions because they have herpes which is very contagious.

It is important that this would be addressed so that safety precautions can be done. If the baby would be delivered with the lesion present, the infant may become affected and will have that disease all of the baby’s life. It is not enough to just document the finding because by the time that the doctor reads the report, it will already be too late.

It will be up to the doctor to decide if a c-section will be done or not. Primary care may be needed by the pregnant woman but with a lesion, the type of primary care that can be given will not be enough.

Report the finding to the doctor -any lesion should be reported to the doctor. this can indicate a herpes lesion. clients with open lesions related to herpes are delivered by cesarean section because there is a possibility of transmission of the infection to the fetus with direct contact to lesions. it is not enough to document the finding, so documenting the finding is incorrect. the physician must make the decision to perform a c-section, making preparing the client for a c-section incorrect. it is not enough to continue primary care, so continuing primary care as prescribed is incorrect.
