There are some people who are not from the United States of America who are not aware of this and its importance to the country as a whole. This is the type of legislation that proved that Maine will be considered a free state with Missouri that will be considered as a slave state.
These two states have allowed the number of states that are considered to be free and enslaved equal. This has managed to make sure that Louisiana will be free from slavery for the rest of time. While the purpose of this is clear, this did not exactly become successful as there were still some tensions over the whole issue of slavery.
