Does the New Testament teach that faith without works is insufficient for reconciliation with God?

False-for by grace are you saved, through faith, and this not of yourself; it is the gift of god, not of works, so that no man may boast. (ephesians 2:8-9)many teachings get off course by putting too much emphasis on the book of james, which does say faith without deeds is useless.
