False-for by grace are you saved, through faith, and this not of yourself; it is the gift of god, not of works, so that no man may boast. (ephesians 2:8-9)many teachings get off course by putting too much emphasis on the book of james, which does say faith without deeds is useless. (james 2:19-21) what james is saying, however, is deeds are a natural outgrowth of true faith, not their cause, or the means of salvation. only gods grace saves - any teaching that adds any requirement or act apart from that is not teaching in accordance with scripture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/sola_gratia
