At age six, Ruby’s parents responded to a request from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and volunteered her to take part in the integration of the New Orleans school system, which was an all-white elementary school in Louisiana.
Her father was unsure and livid with all that took place at that time but her mother was sure that the move was about the decision. Her mother was able to convince her father to let her go to the school.
He wasn’t excited, neither was he elated and knew this would change the world. Therefore, all other options are wrong.
Hope this helps.
