- a spin doctor is someone who attempts to turn negative evidence into something positive- in the movie the president of the usa was accused of having sexual relations with a young girl at the same time as the election was coming up. the presidents staff hired a hollywood producer to produce the illusion of a war in order to spin the publics perception away from the sexual accusation towards a war. the idea is that if the public is more concerned about being in the war they will forget about the negative evidence of the sexual accusation. to produce the war, they hired actors to play citizens of afghanistan, they hired a convict to play a lost soldier and they even hired a musician to write songs about the war with afghanistan in order to enter the popular culture at the time.
