Consumerist and a material society -2. excuses of government of hk-3. succession at campus setting-4. sustainable funding-5. sustainable operation -a- consumerism in hk is so pervasive, the material mindset is so deep-rooted, it is difficult for people to imagine living a low-carbon lifestyle. b-excuses of government of hk always finds the excuse that it is part of china, which is a developing country. c-because it is campus based, where students graduate each year, for our efforts to be self-sustained, we need to ensure smooth succession, building up of a database.d-since we rely on external sponsors, we may be unduly restricted by their conditions. so we need to deploy entrepreneurial strategies for us to be financially independent. e- to avoid running into the paradox of asking for reduction of carbon footprint from others while emitting a lot of co2 ourselves - we need to audit our own co2 to make sure our own operation is sustainable and sometimes, even if that means our project goal may not be achieved as well as expected - balance needs to be struck to avoid this fundamental paradox in order to effectively lead by example
