Excessive production of the thyroid hormone is called hyperthyroidism. It’s a condition in which the thyroid tends to be overactive and in turn, produces excessive thyroid hormones. The thyroid gland is an organ that is located in front of the neck and releases hormones that controls your breathing, metabolism, heart rate, weight, body temperature, nervous system, and many other functions. You should know that when the thyroid gland produces excessive thyroid hormone, the body’s processes are sped up, and such individuals may experience nervousness, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, hand tremor, sleep problem, excessive sweating, and other problems.

]Hyperthyroidism may be caused by several factors such as the Graves’ disease, toxic nodular or multinodular goiter, thyroid inflammation, etc. In most cases, this irregular secretion of hormone from the thyroid gland can be treated with antithyroid medication that is capable of interfering with the secretion of thyroid hormones such as Methimazole.

Hyperthyroidism is caused by the thyroid gland being overactive, which makes the gland produce excessive amounts of the hormone called thyroxine. The thyroid is located at the front of the neck and is a master gland within the endocrine system, and it regulates most of the primary functions in one way or another.

An overactive thyroid can produce several key symptoms, such as nervousness, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, and weight loss. Disproportionate levels of thyroid hormones can then speed up the body's metabolism, which may also prompt the swelling of the thyroid gland, which causes a noticeable lump, known as a goiter, which forms in the throat. It may also cause hyperactivity where a person can't stay still and is full of nervous and anxious energy.
