There are-there are/there is, their/theyre/therethere are/there isin english, you use there is to talk about one thing, and there are to talk about many things. in swedish, you would use det finns or det är for both. people is plural, so you would use there are. if you just wanted to say that there was one stupid person, you would use there is.there/their/theyrethese words sound basically the same (though there is a subtle difference in the pronunciation of theyre), but are spelled differently and have very different meanings.theyre = (they are) de ärtheir = derasthere = där it is very important to learn the difference between these words, as otherwise people may assume you are a stupid person.
