"Father into thy hands I commend my spirit, It is finished"
The gospels of Matthew and luke both state jesus cried out again after saying my god, my god why hast thou foresaken me?. no account mentions oh lord why hast thou foresaken me. the other two gospels give different versions of the last words by jesus on the cross - and when jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said `father, into thy hands i commend my spirit` and having said thus, he gave up the ghost (luke 23.46); and jesus knowing that all things were not accomplished that the scriptures might be fulfilled, saith `i thirst`. when jesus there-fore had received the vinegar, he said `it is finished` and gave up the ghost. (john 19.26-29).
