There is the question that is not included in the optional answers: is the expected call really that urgent? If the answer is yes, I would assume it is of the order, The President or The Senate needs to speak to you, or the hospital announces the birth of your child. The ethical answer to this is to put the cell phone on vibrate, warn the other colleagues in advance, and quietly leave the meeting when the phone vibrates.
However, I suspect too many delegates either take the call within the meeting or alert the meeting when the call comes through. This is because it may seem to enhancee the importance of the delegate. I wish everyone would act considerately, in meetings, in the street, in the home and everywhere, but it seems that the excitement of receiving a call appears to increase the self-importance of the one called.
