The answer to this is the applications of forensic science. If in case you are not too aware, forensic science refers to the type of science that is used whenever people would like to solve different crimes. There are man victims right now, and some of these victims are unable to find justice because there are not enough forensic pieces of evidence that will lead to the person who has done the victim harm.

The medical examiner is the main person who would need to make use of this type of science. There are some details that are needed, such as the stab wounds, signs of struggle, and so much more that may become considered as forensic evidence. The more pieces of evidence that are available, the higher the chances that the crime will be solved.
