It has been a long time since I read “To Kill a Mockingbird,” but Miss Maudie hates to spend time inside; she’d rather be working on the garden. So, the correct answer is D. However, it’s not necessarily that Miss Maudie hates her house.
She doesn’t like to be indoors, which is understandable. There are people who would rather die before being confined to their home, and there are others that would prefer to stay inside all day. I am one of the latter, but that’s neither here nor there.
As far as why Miss Maudie doesn’t like to be indoors all day, it could be that she’s one of those people who doesn’t understand what there is to do inside other than sleep, eat, cook, and clean (IE chores). I can’t say for certain because I don’t remember the story with her that well.
