Chocking can be caused by many things like the impaction of foreign body in the throat, pieces of food in trachea and larynx, strangulation, inhalation of gas like ammonia, carbon monoxide, and chlorine. When someone is chocking, they become restless, experience difficulty in breathing, coughing, some even fall asleep in case of gases.
When a victim is chocking, remove the source of danger from the person, especially in a room filled with gas, remove all tight clothes around the neck chest or waist, clear or remove the obstruction from the mouth such as blood, saliva if breathing has stopped start artificial respiration immediately.
