Apologetics is apart of the religious faith Christianity. Their purpose is to defend their religion against those who object to it. Not only do they defend the religion, but it is broken down further than that, for they defend the Bible and God's character.
This leads to different types of apologetics. One type is Creationist apologetics. They support facts in the Bible that state Earth is 6,000 years old, and they reject the age of Earth that science presents. Another type is Bible apologetics. They go along with Creationist apologetics, in that they are defending the Bible, but instead of just defending one part, they defend the entire word.
Apologetics are those in the Christian world who defend Christianity against the objectors of the religion. There have been apologetics since the beginning of the 0religion and have evolved over the centuries. Early on Paul the Apostle and writers like Justin Martyr and Augustine of Hippo were apologetics.
The word apologetics derives from the Greek word apologia, which means speak in return or to defend oneself. There are many types of apologetics throughout Christianity. Biblical apologetics defend the Bible. Creationist apologetics support that the Earth is 6,000 years old because that is what the Bible states. In turn, they reject the scientific age of Earth.
