What is a quick way to extend these numbers to a longer sequence, for instance 1 through 20?

1. Select both cells, and then drag the fill handle over the range you want, for instance 18 more rows.
2. Select the range you want, including both cells, point to Fill on the Edit menu, and then click Down.
3. Copy the second cell, click in the cell below it, on the Standard toolbar click the down arrow on the Paste button, and then click Paste Special.

In order to extend the numbers to long sequence, both the cells can be selected then they would be dragged up to the certain amount of cells that you want. In number 1, it can be up to 18 more rows but the choice will always be up to you. If you would like to extend the sequence up to 100, then that will be up to you provided that you will choose the range that you want.

Using Excel is actually easy as long as you know the tips and tricks. You can use it for doing other simple and complicated mathematical equations. It is also a known fact that this program can just make organizing things very easy to do.
