What is an atomic wedgie?

When you hear or read the word “atomic wedgie,” many people would start to giggle. The title of this phrase is quite humorous. Many people have heard of wedgies which is when someone pulls your underwear that you are currently wearing straight up out of your pants. This would cause a very discomfortable feeling for the person. However, there are apparently different levels of wedgies.

If you get ahold of someone’s underwear, then they might squirm and move away from you so there would not be a severe wedgie. However, sometimes people can really quickly grab a hold of the underwear and pull it straight up fast. This would be considered an atomic wedgie because it is an extreme wedgie given to someone.
