This must be analyzed in order to come up with the right answer. The figure of speech that is present here is a metaphor. This is apparent because of the words that are used. The sentence states: “My love is a red, red rose.” The fact that it used the word means that it is a metaphor. The comparison is directly stated.

This is different from a simile wherein the word may be compared to another word. If this is a simile, the sentence should have read, “My love is LIKE a red, red rose.” This only means that love is being compared to the color of the rose. Since a direct comparison is used, this is more of a metaphor.

Alliteration
Metaphor

This sentence is a metaphor that contains an alliteration. The red, red rose is the alliteration while the comparison of love to the rose is a metphor.
