What should a team leader do if a certain member is constantly late for meetings?

Scrum meetings are extremely important for setting the goals and context for the day. Because scrum meetings are strictly kept to 15 minutes it is important for every team member to be on time and at the set location. If a team member is consistently running late to these meetings, the issue needs to be addressed quickly in order to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

With this said, the first step would be to speak directly to the team member. Addressing the team member directly points out the issue and gives a chance to fix it. If the punctuality issue is not fixed thereafter, further steps may be taken.

If a team member is consistently late for the daily meetings, the other team member should meet with the team member to determine a solution. A scrum can be considered as an agile framework which is used for the completion of complex projects. Originally, scrum was first developed for software projects.

However, scrum works for any kind of complex work or any work that has high requirements along with a unique scope. A scrum is highly important for the proper completion of tasks, and this is carried out by scrum managers. Usually, the framework of scrum is relatively simpler than it seems.
