What is the ScrumMaster's role in the Sprint Retrospective?

The role of Scrum Master in the Sprint Retrospective is to facilitate the team’s search for improvements. In other words, a scrum master can be considered as a facilitator for a team. Scrum is the name of a methodology according to which a team can self-organize itself and allow changes in itself very quickly I accordance with agile principles.

The scrum master, on the other hand, manages the flow of information so as it make it more effective. The first scrum analogy came from the application to the manufacturing of paper. Without the presence of a scrum master, the improvement process in a team can become really slow.
