Lines 1 and 2 will help you find the values of A and B.
Note that with A+B = 76 and A-B = 38, here is how we can figure out the values of A and B.
A+B = 76
A-B = 38
Solving this system by the addition method, we have:
Ads
2A = 114
A = 57
Knowing this, we replaced this value on line 1:
A+B = 76
57+B = 76
B = 76-57
B = 19
And finally, we use A÷B
57÷19 = 3
Answer: 3

The question may seem tricky in the beginning but it can be answered simply.
−If A + B is = 76
−And A – B = 38
−Then you can assume that the other number is also 38 because 38 + 38 is equal to 76.
The problem with this is that there are still a lot of possible numbers that can be used for this. For example, it can be 19 and 57. There are a wide variety of numbers that will amount to 76.

A / B is equal to an unknown variable. But we have the value for A + B being equal to 76, and A – B is equal to 38. To find A / B, we first need to find the value of A and B. Now let A + B = 76 by equation 1, and A – B = 38 by equation 2. Now from equation 2, we can deduct that A = 38 + B. The next thing is to substitute A for 38 + B in equation 1. Then we are going to have (38 + B) + B = 76.

Solving further, we have 38 + 2B = 76. Hence, 2B = 76 – 38; 2B = 38. To find B, divide 38 by 2; your answer would be equal to 19. Now, substitute B for 19 in, say, equation 3. Then your A would be equal to 38 + 19, which eventually equals 57. Therefore, A/B = 57/19, which is equal to 3.

There procedure to figure A / B is as follows: If A + B = 76 A – B = 38 A / B = …? You add A + B = 76 A – B = 38 Totals 2A 114 2 2 A = 57 57 + B = 76 B = 19 57 – B = 38 B = 19 A / B = ? 57 / 19 = 3
