Ruby Bridges was the first black to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. She attended the William Frantz Elementary School. The principal of the school didn’t want Ruby to be in the same class with the white kids. So a teacher was hired to teach Ruby in a class by herself.
Ruby’s teacher found out that Ruby did excellently well on the test and she asked the vice principal for the score but the teacher wanted to lower her score. The reason the vice principal wanted to lower Ruby’s test scores was because her scores were too high since she had independent help her scores were considered inaccurate.
