What is the term given to series of events that tie up the loose ends of a story?

This is called the falling action. It’s kind of like falling into bed at the end of the day. There’s so much that has happened over the course of the rest of the book - usually a series of held breathes, pages quickly turning, and eyes moving so fast you can barely believe what you’re reading - that tying everything together at the end feels like a big deep breathe at the end of a long day.

Either way, falling action means that everything is done as far as the biggest plot in the book is concerned. However, there are still a lot of things to put together. This is usually when weddings, divorces, etc. happen that have been building through the whole book.
