We have all heard of William Shakespeare’s famous play Romeo and Juliet. At some point it is inevitable that every student will study the tale of two star crossed lovers whose families are so at odds with one another that it has a profound impact on their lives. In the play Benvolio is Romeo’s cousin and Mercutio is a good friend to Benvolio.

He is not related to either Romeo or Juliet’s family but is loyal to Benvolio and Romeo’s family. When Benvolio and Mercutio find that a letter has come for Romeo they are concerned because they do not think that Romeo will be able to beat Tybalt in a duel.
