Yes, Katipunan anchored on the political platform of separating Philippine from Spain. Katipunan was founded by anti - Spanish colonialism Filipinos in Manila in the 1890s.

The primary goal of the society was to get freedom and independence from Spain. The society also revolved around the teachings of good morals, habits, hygiene and religious fanaticism. The society also worked to defend the poor and the oppressed in the society.

The founders of the Katipunan were: Andres Bonifacio, Teodoro Plata, Ladisla Diwa and many others. And it was founded at 72 Calle Azcarraga, San Nicholas in Manila.
