Customers are getting more savvy when grocery shopping these days. Many are actually reading the back labels. The back label lists nutritional facts such as the serving size, the servings per container, the calories per serving and calories for the whole box or can. Then the vitamins and minerals are listed by per cent of daily value, and then all the ingredients are listed.
On the back of the box of chocolate pudding mix, the back label has the serving size to be one-fourth of the prepared mix. The first ingredient listed is sugar which means that by weight there is more sugar than any other ingredient. Using this, if a bottled spaghetti sauce, for instance, has olive oil as the second ingredient, this means that olive oil has the most weight of the ingredients.
