RAM is the random-access memory which is otherwise or more commonly known as storage on a computer. When you save a document or anything to your computer and not to an attached flash drive, then it is being saved in the storage on your computer. You must have a certain amount of storage to save everything that you want saved.
However, sometimes, you run out of storage or RAM and you either have to delete things off of your computer or you must save things on a flash drive. Northbridge is located on the motherboard and it is attached to the central processing unit. There are two activities that are normally controlled by the Northbridge part of the chipset. These include having access to the RAM and video card.
To understand the Northbridge, you must understand part of it is used to be the memory controller chip used to retrieve memory from RAM for the LPU. The MCC was improved to not only provide an interconnection between CPU and RAM but also to be connected to other devices on the PC and was renamed the Northbridge.
Northbridge is an Intel chipset that communicates with the computer process and controls the interaction with memory and all the Accelerated Graphics Port activities.
