A fight, because he is shown a memory of a war including elephants, but no one trying to kill them.

I think maybe the killing part. Killing is disturbing. But also for Jonas, because he has never seen or heard of such violent activity. It could also be the elephant's mourn that is heard when the men shoot the poor animal down. This is what makes Jonas think of this as a disturbing memory. But it also makes him feel depressed and anxious about this violence that was to happen in a normal world.
