Barriers are anything that brings discontinuity in the communication between the two materials or communities. Basically, these barriers create interference in the interaction between two people. Barriers can be any of the following which is given below:
A. A neighborhood where people speak a different language than the surrounding neighborhoods
B. A highway
C. An ocean
D. A different ethnicity
Any of the above could be barriers. All these prevent communication between the two communities.
A barrier to spatial interaction is anything that prevents effective interaction or communication between communities. Whether this is a language barrier, where different neighbors can’t interact because they speak different languages, or a highway that separates two neighborhoods, the effect is the same. Both scenarios present the occupants with an inability to interact with each other.
Similarly, an ocean can act as a barrier to spatial interaction because of inability of the occupant s to meet. Different ethnicities can also be a problem and a barrier for certain people. Some ethnicities don’t like mixing with other groups and can be the reason for their lack of interaction.
