The answer to this is A. Diamonds are known to be very rare gems. There are people who would love to stock up on their jewelry that comes with diamonds because they know that these will sell well in the long run. There are some diamonds that do get submerged in water. There are still some reports of potential treasures that the pirates may have lost at sea.

Some divers try to retrieve those treasures but they are far too deep in the ocean floor to be reached. Some of them may not even exist. Some diamonds will be able to withstand being submerged in water and can still be as good as new depending on how long it would be left there.
